National Anthem of Indonesia

Indonesia is one of the countries located in South East Asia. The name Indonesia doesn’t mean single lad. It is an archipelago. This Indonesian archipelago is a group of 13,466 islands. The archipelago of Indonesia consists of 33 provinces and one Special Administrative Region.

The independence day of Indonesia was announced by Netherlands on 17^th August, 1945. But, Netherlands admitted the sovereignty of Indonesia in 1949. Before 2008, 17^th August, 1949 was considered as the independence day of Indonesia. But when the Dutch govt. declared that 17^th August, 1945 is the true Independence Day, the Independence Day of Indonesia was changed and the National Anthem of Indonesia was adopted.

“Indonesia Raya” is the first phrase of the National Anthem of Indonesia. Though the National Anthem of Indonesia was composed in 1928, the National Anthem of Indonesia was adopted in 1945, when Indonesia became independent from Netherlands. The National Anthem of Indonesia was written by Wage Radolf Supratman. The National Anthem of Indonesia was marked as birth point of the nationalist movement in the group of Indonesian Islands.

The National Anthem of Indonesia was first printed publicly by the Chinese Indonesian weekly Sin po. The original version of the National Anthem of Indonesia was modified and the present National Anthem of Indonesia was presented by Jozef Clebar.
