The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is located in the
Leeward Islands, is a country of two federal Islands in the Caribbean. It is
the smallest autonomous state in the Americas, in both geographical area and
population.
The capital and seat of government of the federal state is
Basseterre on the larger island of Saint Kitts. The small island of Nevis lies
about 3 km southeast of Saint Kitts, across a shallow channel called "The
Narrows".
"O Land of Beauty!" is the National Anthem of Saint
Kitts and Nevis. The National Anthem of Saint Kitts and Nevis was written and
composed by Kenrick Georges, it was adopted as the National Anthem of Saint
Kitts and Nevis, the newly independent nation in 1983, when the federation became
independent from Great Britain.
